Welcome Humbug (Christmas carol fan?)Hey PSV fans! I'm a Benfica fan. I'll be typing in english as I don't trust google translate in order to do this. In the biggest Benfica forum, we are wondering what you guys think about Schmidt. What are your critiques of him and what are the positives? Does he play good football? Is he a good communicator? Does he play youngsters? etc...
Also, is Vinicius doing that bad there?
Cheers form a Benfica Fan!

I haven't studied Schmidt thoroughly, a lot has been sayed about Schmidt allready here but I only read some parts of the discussion.
If you would ask my opinion in a pub, or in the stadium or whatever I would say I have mixed emotions about Roger at PSV.
Performance should have been better (especially in his first season) but it seems to be improving and the wheel is still in spin.
As for the Dutch league: we should be ranked number 1 in the league because the VAR made a ridiculous mistake during PSV - Ajaks.
Dutch national cup: we have a final to play against our rival Ajaks.
Europe conference league: 1/8 final to play against the Leicester City.
So there is a lot at stakes in the upcoming weeks.
I think Schmidt isn't that bad but he just needs better players (especially defenders) for his tactical plans that might be complex.
The teamspirit seems to be good.
There is finally some peace at the club after we had certain problems when the previous trainer left.
Players that where off the radar got new chances, improved, worked hard and are more important now.
There are rumours that people who either know Schmidt or his colleagues/players he is socially fine or something like that. Yes, Schmidt had some discussions with the press but maybe it was a while ago or (partially) overrated.
He is passionated and reminds me a bit of Simeone. Benfica and Schmidt might be a good match, don't ask me why because it's just a feeling. Maybe because they work hard and Schmidt likes a fit, hard working team
