Head-to-Head
Internazionale have won all three previous matches against PSV in Europe, all in the Champions League group stages.
Inter won the reverse fixture 2-1 in Eindhoven on 3 October. Pablo Rosario (27') scored the opener for PSV, but Radja Nainggolan (44') and Mauro Icardi (60') reeled in the victory for Inter.
Inter won both encounters in the 2007/08 CL group phase: 2-0 at home and 1-0 away. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored both goals at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, and Julio Ricardo Cruz netted in Eindhoven.
Inter are unbeaten in their last 10 matches against Dutch clubs (W7-D3-L0), since a 1-0 home defeat against Feyenoord in the semifinals of the 2001/02 UEFA Cup.
Ronaldo, Wim Jonk, Andy van der Meyde, Jérémie Bréchet, Tijani Belaid, and Vampeta played for both PSV and Inter.
Internazionale
Inter will qualify for the knockout stages with A) a win AND Tottenham Hotspur do not win b) a draw AND Tottenham Hotspur lose.
Inter have failed to qualify from the (first) group phase only once in their previous 11 campaigns - third in the group in 2003/04.
Inter could qualify for the KO round with only two wins in their six group matches. When Inter won the CL in 2009/10 they became only the third team to lift the trophy despite winning only two (first) group phase matches, after AC Milan in 1993/94 and Manchester United in 1998/99. Inter had nine points in that 2009/10 group campaign (Milan 8 in 1993/94, Man United 10 in 1998/99).
Inter are one of two teams from Pot 4 in the main draw to have a chance to advance to the Last 16 (next to Shakhtar Donetsk). Last season, no Pot 4 team survived the group. The season before, only AS Monaco did.
Inter successfully negotiated the (first) group phase in all but one of their previous 11 CL participations. In 2003/04, they finished third in their group.
Inter have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 10 CL matches, already a club record. Their only clean sheet in their last 18 CL fixtures was in a 1-0 away win against Lille OSC on 18 October 2011.
Inter have not kept a clean sheet in each of their last eight home matches in the CL, since a 1-0 win against Dutch side FC Twente on 24 November 2010.
Seven of Inter's last eight Champions League goals were scored after half-time, with Radja Nainggolan's 44th-minute goal in the 2-1 win at PSV as the only exception.
Mauro Icardi has scored three goals in five CL appearances. The last player to score more than three goals for Inter in a single CL campaign was Samuel Eto'o (8) in 2010/11.
Luciano Spalletti qualified for the CL knockout stages on five of his six attempts as a manager. Only in 2012/13 with FC Zenit, he failed to negotiate the (first) group phase.
Milan Škriniar, Ivan Perišic and Marcelo Brozovic will be suspended if booked.
PSV
PSV are already guaranteed to finish bottom of their group. It is the first time they finish last in their group in consecutive CL appearances. In 2016/17, they finished last in a group that also contained Atlético Madrid, FC Bayern München and FC Rostov.
PSV (1 point, 12 goals conceded) could equal their fewest points total in a group stage campaign, and set a club record for most goals conceded.
The only campaign in which PSV had only one point after six group matches was in 1992/93.
The only two seasons in which PSV conceded more goals in their group than the 12 goals in the current campaign were 2008/09 (14) and 1992/93 (13).
PSV have never scored a goal in Stadio Giuseppe Meazza/San Siro (5 matches, all in CL).
Apart from their own Philips Stadium, the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza/San Siro is the venue where PSV have played most European matches (5) - against Inter (2-0) and versus AC Milan (3-0, 2-0, 2-0, 2-0, 0-0).
The other venues where they have played multiple European fixtures without scoring any goal are Stade Geoffroy-Guichard (3, AS Saint-Étienne), Highbury (2, Arsenal) and Ali Sami Yen (2, Galatasaray).
Dutch clubs have scored in only one of their last nine visits to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza/San Siro - Ajax' 2-0 win at AC Milan in December 2010.
PSV are winless in their last 13 CL matches (W0-D5-L8), the longest winless streak by a Dutch team in the competition. PSV's last win in the CL was a 2-1 group stage victory at home against CSKA Moskva on 8 December 2015.
PSV have won one of their last 18 away matches in the CL (W1-D4-L13) and are winless in their last 12 CL matches away from home, since a 1-0 victory at CKSA Moskva on 27 November 2007.
PSV have yet to claim their first win this CL season (W0-D1-L4), despite taking the lead in three of their five matches.
Luuk de Jong can become the first player to score in four consecutive CL matches for a Dutch club. Arjen Robben (5), Ruud van Nistelrooy (5, 4, 4), Roy Makaay (5) and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (4) are the only Dutch players to have netted in four or more successive CL matches.
Only Ruud van Nistelrooy (5 in 1998/99) and Danny Koevermans (4 in 2008/09) have scored more goals for PSV in a CL campaign than De Jong's three goals in 2018/19.
PSV fielded the same starting XI in all their four defeats this CL season. They could set a new CL record for fielding the same starting XI in five group stage matches. PSV have made only one change in their starting XI this campaign, fielding Donyell Malen instead of Steven Bergwijn in their 2-2 home draw against Spurs.
Luuk de Jong will be suspended if booked.
